CARGO BIKE

After a long while making gallery and wall based work, a change was needed. Unexpectedly it came in the form of functional ceramics and street market sales from a cargo bike in East London. Living artworks. They brought a sense of the soul to everyday moments. The minutes while we eat breakfast or drink coffee. It brought many conversations with people on the street, some of whom are makers themselves and others for whom making is a mystery. Conversations about the cost and value of things, what does or doesn’t make sense to do in life due to financial rewards.

Making and selling like this draws attention to our cheap and environmentally damaging lifestyles, to the real cost of things, things as simple as a cup. If we lived with less, and valued things more a great many problems would be solved.
