Other Plans
I feel so much light and radiance in these paintings. Whites on white, layered on top of olive green base layers. I find them gorgeous, and so too the process of their making. Marks are made instinctively, but what becomes of interest is the unintentional shapes that emerge. How beautiful this reflects life. In the words of John Lennon ‘life happens when you’re busy making other plans’, and be it the painted mark or the life choice, the outcome after a time is so unexpected. Our environment altered by weather and human routine, by what is unsaid as much as said.
in the studio there is fabric on the floor to catch the drips, it moves well under the fields of painted gestures. The flow of everything to make a whole; oceanic.
